I know you are all gelous that I can write this lovely letter Ñ.
Compared to the pleasure of eating, cooking and grocery shopping are a big pain in the ass. I know I know cooking can be relaxing and enjoyable bla bla bla.
During Llucs dark months I didnt ate very well for lunch. Placid would cook something good for dinner (I'm a lucky girl) but lunch was more about "eat what you can when you can and then fill it up with bread". I think from august to december I my lunch diet was cereals, milk, bread, jamon serrano and Movenpick ice cream (great to avoid post partum depression).
Now I'm trying to improve what I eat for lunch but I found myself wondering WTF I'm to lazy for that! so when I see this:
I smile because there is a yummy future full of easy quick food around the corner. I can cook an egg, I can smash an advocado I can eat that and believe me after 4 months of Chocos, this is heaven.
I'll keet you updated, meanwhile lets thank my lovely husband who has been feeding me theses lasts months when I did'nt care about anything.

Jamie's 30-minute meals
Placid and me are loving this tv show on Channel 4 and we are doing our little projects. The pictures suck but the food is improving.
What we like about him (appart form the fact that he is really messy, uses old "home-looking" kitchet stuff instead of super-fancy and new pots) is that he makes it easy and fun to cook. Ok maybe too much chilly everywhere for our mediterranean taste but everything is great.
Spanish cooking tv shows suck, we have Karlos Arguiñano, who is fine but has been doing the same thing for ... 30 years? I don't know, and the Catalan TV got a young guy who was ok but nothing special.
Great food in a great country, shitty TV shows to teach useless cookers like me!
Oh if you have some time whatch Jamie's TED talk!

Oink Oink
Thats what pigs do in Spanish, I forgot to show you a nice cute little something we found in the supermarket in January.
The raisins that make the eyes popped out in the oven now it looks a little bit cross-eyed but still cute. Its a sort of pig sorloin with spinachs and ham. Placid got onw with chicken, its funny because the one with pig looks like a pig, the onw with chicken is a hedgehog!

Weekend
The flat is finished, on Suday we built the cheapest closet ever and we have decided not to buy or do anything more until spring at least! Ikea forget where I live!!
Well we will get just one more thing a Christmas tree!
On Sunday I went to the Sukkulenten Sammlung in Zürich, its a free small botanical garden full of cactus, really beautiful in fact much better than the offical Botanical Garden. The next time I promise some pictures.
There I got a nice flyer (made of recycled paper of course!) about the eco-Zürich -made-christmas-trees. Here everything is "eco" so you can go to the city forest and get your own tree.
And by get I mean CUT! Placid is really excited but we still don't know if you need to bring your own axe!
And to keep on with the autum mood of the weekend we started the get-fat-before-the-winter-comes-and-freezes-your-ass season by baking 2 tons of cookies!
The cooker
The results.
I won't put a picture about the indigestion I got after eating 2 kilos of cookies :-(

Good stuff
There are some things I simply adore form this country like the fact you can buy cookie paste allready made in supermarkets.
Never seen that before.
I'm not a great cook I don't even consider I cook, I do stuff to avoid starving.
In my opinion the two best things to do with cookies are:
1. Eat them
2. Cut the paste (with fun moulds) and decorate it.
Measuring and mixing the ingredients its the worst one so I'm extremely happy with this idea. Placid too he plans to spent the whole weekend baking cookies.
And they are so good...
Of course I admire people able to do this.

Thats something that I miss. My favourite autum meal is rovellos, roasted chestnuts ans sweet potatoes. I'll aks my mum to make a picture of it to show you.
She just wrote a really good post about what these mushrooms mean for catalan people, here it is.
I also stole a beautiful picture, she is my mum, she can't complain!

The chicken!
Following the famous theory of the chicken of my dear mother the other day I saw that two chicken breasts were more expensive than a whole chicken so I took it and brougth it home.
Do I know how to cook a chicken? no, but who cares!
First question: will it be clean? I had seen in movies people puttuing his hand in the poor chicken's ass at take away everything so , when I arrived home the first thing I did was to check its ass.
Good! nothing inside!
Good for me not for the chicken because if it hadn't been "clean" I would have thrown it away!
Second question: What can I do with the chicken? The first birthday present Placid ever gave me was a cookbook. When you are 21, cooking is not one of your main interests (at least for me) and a guy that after a month gives you a book like that mmmm..... but 8 years later I'm still with that guy and I' finally going to use that book!
So I open my cookbook for dummers look for "chicken"... page 74 "cooking a whole chicken" great!
Really fas, I smeared the chicken with butter and some spices, put some vegetablen in his ass and put it in the oven! Placid ate it and is still alive so I'm quite happy.
And the best thing is that I didi all of that without touching the chicken with my hands!
And without using gloves because at home I have two pairs of gloves, the leather one for the motorcycle and a rubber ones to clean the WC, I thought that none was appropriate.
The chicken is cool drawing of my mother!
