One year ago

One year ago, after almost ten years together we decided to get married. Our whole lives have changed during these last 12 months and sometimes things have not been pretty.

Surgery, an unexpected pregnancy, almost 2 months apart from eachother and Lluc.

Lluc, that little dude who has been testing our resilience (boths physical and psychological) to the limit during the last 4 months. 

A difficult baby can stretch your marriage like Kim Kardashians underwear, things have been improving lately and it loooks like we will finally be able to start enjoying parenthood. 

Looking back I realise it would have been impossible to survive these last months without the lovely man who agreed to spent the rest of his live with me even when I havent been the sweetest lady in the world these lasts months.

we are moving

Again :-P this will be the 5th flat we live in and its all Llucs fault. He migth be tiny but god lord, babies come with a lot of crap!

Our new place is bigger and is very close, we loved living in Seefeld so why change?! Its an old building with a few super swiss neighbors so we are asking Mr. Google about swiss etiquette rules when moving to a new place, I'll tell you what I find. 

Who cares about reflux we are enjoying tummy time!

NASA

NASA just called. They want to hire Lluc, the only human able to defeat gravity.

Being able to poo up to your shoulder blades is something to take pretty seriously.

Keeping up with the Kardashians

Is Llucs favorite TV show. I know babies are not suppoussed to watch TV, bah who cares.

The hair and make up is huge, for him is like watiching the Muppets show with boobs, what else could he ask for!?

1,2,3 the baby is in da house

Since the 31th of July our little family hasa  new member: Lluc.  Quite cute but a bad sleeper (during night!) he is keeping us a little bit busy while Placid and myself try to find our selves in this new role: parenthood.

I have to admit pregnancy looks extremely easy now, I feel exhausted, my body is a like a jelly bean and my emotions go up and down like a rollercoaster but I guess its what I'm supposed to feel now!

Meanwhile and after one week Lluc is growing fast (but not faster than my boobs!) and trying to learn how to use his new little body.

Crafting

I love mobile, I had a pretty big colection back home, now they are spread between my parents home and some boxes in Zurich.


It looks like babies love mobiles too so I had a great excuse to do some craft around.

For the first one I used this paper gems templates from Mini-eco (a blog worth a visit) and
turned them into a mobile.


I used paper, a metalic white hoop I found in Cood Bau+Hobby and nylon thread. The worst part was asembling the paper gems but after 4 it gets easy :-)

 

The second one is still in progress. A while ago I found this Etsy seller who makes this beautiful (and affordable) mobiles and fell in love with them. So when last Saturday walking around Zürich I found a little origami for dummies kit I felt destiny was telling me to do something similar on my own. 

How? Youtube my dear. 


Until now I have a crane, a giraffe, a rabbit, a butterfly fish and an elephant (that doesn't look very nice) I still need to think how to build the mobile but origami is not my thing, the next time I'll buy it allready made :-P

Geometry

When your the distance between you belly button and your ass is growing fast at an increasing acceleration you know you are entering the third trimester.

You also realise its time to buy new underwear, a really elastic one.

Our wedding II - the dress

I was quite sure what I didn't want for my wedding dress: no long dresses no white dresses.

Finding non white wedding dress in Spain was impossible but after watching Funny Face we had a clear idea of what we wanted.

A good friend gave me the phone number of a lovely lady with magical hands and after a trip to Gratacos everything was done and I got the pretty short pink dress I was hoping for.

Cheesy? who cares I loved it!

Placid decided what to wear having a little idea of the shape of the dress and a piece of fabric (his tailor had pictures) so the day of the wedding he knew more about my dress that I knew about his!

The two things I loved the most about my dress: the 200.000 buttons on my back and the way it moved, really fun to wear.

The dress was strapless and the "sweater" was made of one layer of thin tulle, the buttons were for real, my poor mum spent a nice time fighting against them.

DIY useful links for parents to be

As we did in our wedding we are planning to do some DIY stuff, because its fun, makes you feel proud and you can save a lot of money.

1. Baby crib skirts.
Baby skirts looks nice, specially the ones from Dwell studio but as all baby-related things are overpriced. Check this out to do your own, no sewing required! here and here. 

2. A simple non expensive changing pad secured to a normal piece of furniture is a nice way to avoid these awful and huge pieces of furniture

3. For girls, a cute ribbon chandelier.

Still waiting to see the difference between beer belly and baby bump.

Hips don't lie and in my case they are pretty busy right now. One week after my surgery I found out I was pregnant, oh yeah, it was absolutely not expected and is the reason I haven't post a single thing, I didn't know what to write!



Due day is the 30th of July if the summer is hot in Barcelona I advise you to stay away being fat in summer is awful and I expect to be really grumpy!


Btw my hips are recovering, surgery went well but I'm still unable to cut my own toe nails, nothing makes you feel more stupid that that, believe me.
